new year's resolution?

I don't believe in new year's resolutions in general - I think you should make an effort to improve yourself and do something new every day of the year. However, I have been feeling guilty about not keeping up with my goal of trying to contribute and give back to the community, so I'm planning to change that.

I started volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, so that's a start on that front, but I want to try to contribute to the forensics community as well. There are so many great and talented people in this community who take time to share their knowledge and research...it is easy to feel intimidated as a novice. But the last couple of weeks have seen inspiring posts from Rob Lee and Harlan Carvey, encouraging us newbies to share what we can.

This will be short, as I need to get back to work, but I'm going to make a better go at it this time. I benefit every day from the knowledge shared in this community, and it's time to return the favor. I can't make any promises, but I'm going to try :)
